Mark your calendar now for Seattle’s greatest treasure hunt this spring. The West Seattle Garage Sale Day is back on Saturday, May 9, 2026, marking its 21st year. In recent years, more than 500 sellers have taken part. Registration wrapped up at the end of April, and soon the full online map will be released showing seller locations along with descriptions of what they’re offering. This day of community recycling has been a beloved springtime tradition in West Seattle since 2005.
What are the hours?
Officially, the event runs from about 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. That said, some participants may start earlier, stay open later, or even extend their sales into Friday or Sunday.
What will be for sale?
Expect a wide variety—just about anything you might imagine. Sellers provide a brief description of their items along with their address, all of which will appear on the event map ahead of time.
Here’s what the West Seattle Blog has shared about this year’s registrations:
“As of moments ago, we’re past 520 sales, with the most-recent creative sale descriptions including ‘midlife refresh’ and ‘KitchenPalooza,’ plus a seller whose entire description is in Dr. Seuss-style verse. Notable items from recent signups include curtains, a pickleball net, camping space heater, raspberry freezer jam, and a 1992 Mustang.”
Beyond typical garage sale finds, you might also come across free items, baked goods, kids’ lemonade stands, complimentary coffee or water, and handmade goods like ceramics.
What forms of payment should I bring?
Payment options vary by seller, so it’s smart to have a mix—cash, cards, and apps like Venmo.
Is there parking available?
Free street parking is available throughout West Seattle, though it can get competitive during the event. Plan to walk quite a bit, and keep an eye out for pedestrians and children in busy areas.
Can I still register as a seller?
There’s still a short window left—registration for 2026 closes at 11 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22. Sellers can include their address and a short (up to 25 words) description of their items, which will appear on the official map. You’re still welcome to host a sale without registering, but it won’t be listed online.
Where is the map of sales?
The seller map and list will be published one week in advance on Saturday, May 2. For updates and the event map once it’s published, check the event page on the West Seattle Blog.
