Tita Bun Collective recently opened its storefront in Seattle’s historic Nihonmachi (Japantown), offering what it calls “tattoos for your clothes.” The concept is simple: choose from a rotating collection of embroidery designs to customize an item you already own or create a one-of-a-kind gift that feels personal and lasting.
What started as a small embroidery business has grown into a community-focused studio centered on creativity and self-expression. In 2026, Tita Bun Collective was selected for the Seattle Restored program, helping establish its permanent home in the neighborhood. Along with custom embroidery, the studio hosts workshops, pop-ups, and community events throughout the year.
The process is easy. Bring in a hat, tote bag, sweatshirt, or another item you’d like customized, or choose from the studio’s selection of crewnecks, totes, baby tees, headbands, and more. Once you’ve selected your item, place labels where you want the design embroidered, and the team takes care of the rest. Every piece is designed and stitched in-house, with turnaround times varying based on the complexity of the order.
Current design options include World Cup-inspired patches, Pride-themed artwork, Seattle-centric designs, flowers, food illustrations, and more. Customers can also add initials, names, or custom text. Most designs are around 1.5 inches and can be combined to create a personalized collection.
For larger projects, Tita Bun Collective offers a limited number of small-batch custom orders each month. These are popular for weddings, bachelorette parties, branded merchandise, and personalized gifts. The team will work closely with you to create designs tailored to your specific event or vision.
The studio also hosts private events where guests can select from a custom patch menu and watch their pieces being embroidered in real time. Your guests will get to head home with a handmade personalized keepsake instead of the usual party favors.
Tita Bun Collective is open Wednesday through Thursday from noon to 6 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The studio is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. You’ll find it at 616 S Jackson St.
