Crafters, crocheters, and coffee lovers in Seattle can now gather in a cozy new space. The crochet-themed Stitch Cafe in Capitol Hill just celebrated their grand opening on October 5, 2024.

Sarah Chae is the owner of Stitch Cafe along with business partner Shimon Masaki. Masaki owns Upright Tree Coffee Roasters, which supplies the cafe’s coffee.
The cafe is welcoming to crafters of all kinds and skill levels. According to Capitol Hill Seattle Blog in an article about the cafe this past July, “Stitch Cafe will provide yarn and other materials, classes for those interested in learning, as well as a full espresso bar and array of teas.”
The cafe has a cozy, “granny-chic” aesthetic with the majority of its seating located on the carpeted second level. Chae also took pains to create a display wall featuring the crafts of local artists.
“I wanted to have a cozy environment where you can go to do a craft, and I noticed Seattle was missing that,” Chae said. Visitors can enjoy a tea or coffee while working on their crocheting or craft project at their leisure.
Stitch Cafe officially opened at the beginning of this October, after initially planning a September 2024 opening.
