Looking to break up the tail end of your week with some good food and live music? Head over to the 17th annual South Lake Union Block Party this Thursday, August 10. The block party is an all-day affair and is open to all ages—with free admission!
Read on for all the details.
The South Lake Union Block Party is in its 17th year and is a free, family-friendly way to enjoy what the SLU neighborhood has to offer. You can browse local businesses’ booths and connect with community organizations. Just know that the community booths shut down at 6:00 p.m.
The highlight is the main stage, which will have live music playing all day. This year’s artist lineup includes:
- Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
- Smokey Brights
- La Fonda
- Tomo Nakayama
- Shaina Shepherd
- DJ Baby Van Beezly
We’re particularly excited for Clap Your Hands Say Yeah. They take the main stage at 8:45 p.m.
Whether you go for lunch or dinner, you’ll be able to take your pick of local food trucks, which will be there for the entire duration of the block party. There will also be a beer garden for the 21+ crowd.
There will also be fun activities, such as a free letterpress salon. From noon to 6:00 p.m. you can go to the big white tent in the South Lake Union Discovery Center parking lot to try your hand at letterpress poster printing.
Plan to bring your kids or your fur baby? The festival is kid-friendly and welcomes leashed dogs.
Stuck at work this Thursday? No worries: the fun goes until 10:00 p.m. See you there!
