It’s time to enjoy new versions of classic plays. Romeo and Juliet are back as Romeo y Julieta, a multilingual adaptation of the play by William Shakespeare.
You can watch free on streaming until June 6. With Shakespeare’s Spanish, English, and Spanglish text, this production will celebrate Latinidad and queer culture in the classic love story and be a brand-new way to experience this play.
The cast includes Nicholas Japual (Mercutio/Paris), Tricia Castañeda-Guevara (Friar/Lady Capulet), Jesse Calixto (Benevolio/Peter), Meme García (Romeo), Angela Hernández (Julieta), Neve Mazique (La Bruja) and others.
The play is approximately two hours long, and you have to register to view it. After registering, you’ll have 48 hours to finish seeing it. You’ll receive instructions to enter the video in your email.
You can also donate money to support MainStage performances, statewide school tours, and Wooden O Shakespeare in the park.
