Sometimes you just need to let it out.
That’s the idea behind Scream Club® Seattle, a free, monthly gathering where people come together outdoors to scream, release some emotional tension and connect with others. The concept is simple: take a break from the pressure to stay composed, quiet or “fine,” and give yourself permission to make some noise.
The gatherings are designed to be welcoming and non-judgmental. Each meetup begins by setting an intention, followed by a collective scream, and finally a short closing meant to help everyone feel grounded before heading home.
Scream Club currently has two Seattle-area locations: Lincoln Park and Golden Gardens, with gatherings held on Sundays.
For the upcoming meetup, participants will gather at Lincoln Park (8011 Fauntleroy Way SW), at Picnic Shelter #4, which sits along the waterfront walkway. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 4.
Another gathering is scheduled for Sunday, October 18, at 11:30 a.m. at Golden Gardens, along the walking path before the beach.
There’s no special gear required. Dress for the weather and bring water. A journal is optional but a good idea if you’d like to reflect afterward.
The event is free and open to everyone, including kids and dogs. Parents can decide whether the experience is appropriate for their children, while dog owners should keep in mind that the group’s collective screaming could be startling for pets who are sensitive to loud noises.
And yes, introverts are welcome. Some people come specifically to meet others and build community, but there’s no pressure to be social. You can show up, scream, and head home without feeling obligated to socialize.
Whatever brings you there, the invitation is straightforward: come as you are, take a breath, make some noise, and enjoy the release.
