We’re off to see the wizard at MOPOP this January!
Seattle’s Museum of Pop Culture (MOPOP) is inviting film lovers to follow the Yellow Brick Road for a one-of-a-kind, two-day film festival celebrating The Wizard of Oz and the many worlds it inspired. Running January 17–18 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm each day, this immersive event blends classic cinema, bold reinterpretations, and interactive experiences that explore Oz’s lasting cultural impact.

The weekend begins with the timeless original The Wizard of Oz, then branches into a “choose-your-own-adventure” format with seven additional films across two days. Each day offers morning and afternoon options, allowing attendees to curate their own Oz journey. Saturday’s lineup includes Return to Oz, Wicked, and David Lynch’s Wild at Heart, while Sunday features The Muppets Wizard of Oz, The Wiz, Mulholland Drive, and the documentary Lynch/Oz.

Guests can enjoy themed crafts, activities, and photo opportunities, drop into the gaming room for Wizard of Oz tabletop games, or relax in the fan gathering space with fellow enthusiasts while enjoying themed cocktails and snacks. On Sunday, festival-goers can also attend a special panel discussion with filmmaker Alexandre Philippe, exploring Lynch/Oz and the profound influence Oz has had on David Lynch’s work.
