There are several weekend markets in Seattle that we love. One of our favorites is the Fremont Sunday Market, which runs year-round with a wide variety of vendors and food trucks. This spring, the market is expanding in a couple of exciting ways.
Read on for all the details!
What is the Fremont Sunday Market?
The Fremont Sunday Market is a family owned and operated street market in Seattle’s Fremont neighborhood. It was founded in 1990, which means it’s been operating for over 30 years! According to the market website, it was started when the co-owners became inspired by European-style markets. It quickly flourished in Seattle’s quirky Fremont neighborhood. Now, in addition to Sundays, the market also has special events including night markets and holiday-themed markets.
The Fremont Sunday Market takes place every Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.—rain or shine.
Where is it located?
The Fremont Sunday Market switches between two locations throughout the year. From November through March, the market spends the winter under the Fremont Bridge. The bridge cover and the space heaters add a much-needed level of comfort to the outdoor market experience in Seattle’s winter months.
From April through October, the market can be found at its main location along 34th Street in Fremont. During these months the majority of the market is uncovered but it still operates in rain or shine.
What can I find there?
The Fremont Sunday Market hosts over 150 vendors. In addition to vendors selling vintage and handmade goods, there are also food trucks. You can shop for vintage clothing, handmade jewelry, home goods, hot bites, coffee, ice cream, brunch, and more.
What’s new this year?
The market’s 35th spring/summer season starts on Sunday, April 6, 2025. They’ll be returning to their usual outdoor spring/summer location at 3401 Evanston Ave North, but also adding on a few exciting developments.
First, the market has expanded to include a second block. From now on the market will extend west of the old Theo Chocolate factory along the Burke Gilman Trail. Since the market will now be on the doorstep of some local businesses, you can easily stop for a drink and a bite to eat at Fremont Mischief or shop for plants at Indoor Sun Shoppe.
A second welcome addition is the opening of Sundays Coffee (@sundaysinfremont) at the market. They’ll be serving coffee, craft beer, wine, and light bites in their brick and mortar cafe that will be located curbside at the Fremont Sunday Market.
Sundays Coffee hasn’t opened yet but we’re excited to visit this spring when it joins the market’s many excellent vendors in Fremont.
