Are you looking for a free and uplifting way to enter this holiday season in Seattle?
For years, Fairmont Olympic Hotel has been home to one of Seattle’s most beloved holiday traditions: a weeks-long display of Christmas trees with over-the-top themed decorations. More than 20 trees will be on display throughout the hotel this year. The trees will be on view at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel daily from Monday, November 17 through December 2. The display is free and open to the public.
If you’d like to add on to your tree viewing experience, Fairmont Olympic has several bar and dining options on site. For a festive date night, you can check out the trees and then stop by the hotel lobby’s Olympic Bar or seek out the Founders Club speakeasy (hint: it’s hidden behind a bookcase). On Friday through Sunday, the hotel offers a sophisticated afternoon tea. And if you want a full meal, make a reservation at The George.

Later on in the holiday season, Fairmont Olympic will also host the annual Teddy Bear Suite. This teddy bear wonderland will have almost 100 bears that you can cuddle up with, along with twinkling lights, a Christmas tree, and more holiday decor that changes every year. Kids will leave with a free treat. You can visit the Teddy Bear Suite for free on the second floor of the hotel from November 28 through December 24. The hours are 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
On November 22, the 48th Seattle Festival of Trees Gala and Auction will take place in the hotel’s Spanish Ballroom. Proceeds from the tree sales will go towards two excellent causes. Seattle Children’s Autism Center provides services to young autism patients, and Uncompensated Care at Seattle Children’s ensures that children receive care regardless of the family’s ability to pay.
The gala is already sold out but you can join the waitlist here. Donations are also accepted if you’d like to help support Seattle Children’s mission this holiday season. You can make a donation online or in person while visiting the tree display and the Teddy Bear Suite at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel (411 University St, Seattle, WA 98101). Finally, you can see all of the decorated trees for sale—from a pastel candy-themed tree to a Wicked tree—on the festival website.
