For nearly two decades, thousands of people have gathered in Seattle’s Chinatown-International District for the annual CID Night Market, enjoying local food, shopping from neighborhood vendors and celebrating together as a community. This year’s event returns Saturday, September 26, from 1 to 9 p.m.
The CID Night Market is a free, all-ages street festival that highlights the culture and character of Seattle’s historic Chinatown-International District. The event transforms the neighborhood into an open-air marketplace featuring local street vendors, food trucks, arts and crafts, cultural performances and plenty of food and drink.
Since it launched in 2006, the CID Night Market has offered both locals and visitors a unique way to experience the neighborhood after dark. It was temporarily canceled for one year in 2023 due to rising costs and lack of sponsors, but it returned in 2024 and has been an annual success since.
As the sun begins to set, cultural performances will take place beneath the red arch at Hing Hay Park. Past performances have included traditional lion dances, taiko drumming, and martial arts demonstrations, adding to the festive atmosphere throughout the evening.
Parking in the Chinatown-International District is limited, with a combination of small parking lots and street parking available. Organizers recommend using public transit when possible, including Link light rail, the streetcar, and bus.
For those who choose to drive, nearby parking options include lots at 614 Maynard Ave. S. and 900 S. King St., as well as the Union Station Garage. Street parking can also be found around the event perimeter.
