If you’re looking for a fun (and free!) way to spend a summer Saturday in Seattle, head to the CID Celebration on Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Hing Hay Park in the Chinatown-International District.
This all-ages community festival with free admission is part of the ongoing effort to support and revitalize the CID while bringing people together to celebrate the neighborhood’s rich cultural heritage. Whether you’re coming for the food, the performances, or just to explore one of Seattle’s most vibrant neighborhoods, there’s something for everyone.
Throughout the day, you can enjoy exciting dragon and lion dances, cultural performances, kung fu demonstrations, live bands, DJ sets, and more. Families will also find plenty to do, with hands-on art activities, fun games, a football toss, hoops challenge, photo opportunities with lion dance props, and raffle drawings with prizes.
Be sure to come hungry. Vendor booths and food trucks will be serving up a variety of delicious local eats, making it easy to grab lunch or sample something new while you explore.
The celebration extends beyond Hing Hay Park, with several nearby streets closed to traffic to make room for activities and booths. The main performance stage will be located on the park’s lower (west) side, while information booths, games, and vendors will be spread throughout the upper (east) side of the park and along the surrounding streets.
If you’re planning to attend, keep in mind that portions of South King Street, Maynard Avenue South, 6th Avenue South, and South Weller Street will be closed during the event.
