It’s official. Seattle is thawing. It’s been named the very best city for dating according to a new study. And perhaps not so shockingly, New York City was ranked as the worst city in the country for dating.
Of course, Seattleites know we have so many gorgeous parks, delicious restaurants, and cool events perfect for romantic and fun dates. There’s even a comedy dating show where comedians pitch your single friend via PowerPoint.
The new study from FetishFinder used data from the Census Bureau, Google Keyword Planner, and Numbeo to discover which cities in the United States are best and worst for dating. The 20 largest cities in the U.S. were researched using six different categories of criteria to find the best cities for dating. The criteria used included:
- The population of single people
- The likelihood of marriage
- The annual divorce rate
- The rate of individuals actively searching for a relationship
- The quality of life
- The cost of living
According to the study, Seattle “had the best balance over all six factors.” Seattle’s quality of life rating is the second best in the U.S. Plus, the city has the highest monthly average of people actively looking for a relationship.
