Seattle’s biggest celebration of craft beer is back. Seattle Beer Week runs May 7 through May 16, bringing tap takeovers, tasting events, food pairings, brewery competitions, and plenty of quirky Seattle energy to breweries and bars across the city. Participating spots include Fremont Brewing, Flying Lion Brewing, Lucky Envelope Brewing, Urban Family Brewing Co., Georgetown Brewing Co., and dozens more throughout the greater Seattle area.
Highlights from this year’s event lineup include:
- Tuesday, May 12: “12 Pack at the Troll”
Seattle Beer Week’s “longest-running guerrilla event” returns to the Fremont Troll at 10 p.m. Organizers are keeping the details of this tradition under wraps, but one thing is certain: don’t be late. The mysterious event only lasts about 15 minutes. - Wednesday, May 13: Annual Brewer’s Wing Competition
Held at Queen Anne Beer Hall, this fan-favorite showdown features 10 local brewers competing with their best chicken wing recipes. Tickets include 10 wings and 10 beer samples, with admission available at the door for $30. - Thursday, May 14: Birds & Beer
Ounces Taproom & Beer Garden hosts a falconer and trained raptors for an up-close animal encounter paired with craft beer. The free event is family-friendly, and guests may even get the chance to hold one of the birds. - Thursday, May 14: Chicken Shit Bingo
Yes, it’s exactly what it sounds like. At The Pine Box, a chicken roams across a numbered board while patrons wait to see where nature takes its course. This free event for ages 21+ also features a special lineup of beers from Firestone Walker Brewing Company. - Friday, May 15: Cascadia vs. The World Lager Showdown
Starting around noon at Full Throttle Bottles in Georgetown, this tasting event pits Pacific Northwest lagers against international contenders in a head-to-head competition. - Friday, May 15: Pool Dad Release Party
Seapine Brewing Company celebrates the return of its lemon-zest lager with food trucks, lemonade, flamingos, a photo booth, and plenty of sunny backyard-party vibes. - Saturday, May 16: Anniversary Party & Pig Roast
Dirty Couch Brewing marks its 11th anniversary with new beer releases, a pig roast, discounts, and all-day festivities at its Magnolia taproom. - Saturday, May 16: Karaoke Night
Cap off Beer Week at Super Deli Mart with karaoke, craft beer, and neighborhood bar energy from 6:30 to 9 p.m.
And that’s just a few of the events planned. This year’s Seattle Beer Week also features brewery tours, trivia nights, beer-and-chocolate pairing classes, tastings, and even an outing to the ballpark with fellow beer fans.
