If you’re looking for free ways to enjoy Seattle this summer, Summer at SAM is worth adding to your calendar. The popular seasonal series returns from July 9 through August 2, 2026, bringing live music, family-friendly activities, local food trucks, and plenty of chances to enjoy the waterfront—all at no cost.
Hosted at the Olympic Sculpture Park, Summer at SAM takes place twice a week, with events on Thursday evenings and Sundays. It’s an easy excuse to spend time outside while taking advantage of Seattle’s best summer weather.
Thursday nights are all about live music. Activities begin at 5:30 p.m., giving visitors time to explore art-making stations, play mini golf, try something fun like drag bingo, and grab dinner from local food trucks before the free concert starts at 7 p.m. The evening wraps up at 9 p.m., making it a great after-work outing.
Sundays offer a wide variety daytime activities from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Visitors of all ages can join yoga classes, create art, browse clothing swaps, watch dance performances, listen to DJs, or take guided tours of the Olympic Sculpture Park. Whether you’re bringing kids, meeting friends, or heading out solo, there’s plenty to explore throughout the day.
The series concludes with a full-day Summer at SAM Carnival on Sunday, August 2. Running from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., the park-wide celebration invites everyone to “unleash creative play” with games, interactive art installations, movement classes, hands-on art projects, live music, sculpture tours, and other activities spread throughout the park.
With free admission, a beautiful outdoor setting, and something happening every week, Summer at SAM offers one of the easiest and most affordable ways to make the most of summer in Seattle.
