Looking for a fun way to celebrate Mardis Gras in Seattle in 2025? The Fremont Arts Council is hosting their annual Petit Troll Parade on Sunday, March 2 in honor of Mardi Gras. You can join this free event in Fremont as a spectator or even as a participant in the parade!
Read on for all the details.
The Petit Troll: Mini Mardi Gras Parade in Fremont is a family-friendly community parade that anyone can be involved in. The parade will have live music, costumes, giant puppets, and—most importantly—mini floats made from toy trucks. Everyone is invited to join a free workshop to DIY your own mini float ahead of the parade on Sunday.
The upcoming parade float workshops are on Wednesday, February 26 at 4:00 p.m. and on Saturday, March 1 at 1:00 p.m. They’re held at the Powerhouse (3940 Fremont Ave N) and all ages are welcome. Bring your own toy truck if possible. See more info here.
The parade begins at noon on Sunday, March 2 at Evanston Plaza in Fremont, which is located at the corner of Evanston Ave N and N Northlake Way. Participants are asked to gather there an hour prior at 11:00 a.m. The parade will process from Evanston Plaza, through PCC, and eventually end at Fremont Sunday Market.
There will be a stage at the market with live music from local brass bands and a short judging session for the floats. The winning float will have a place of honor in this summer’s Fremont Solstice Parade!
Note that the Fremont Sunday Market runs from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, so you can enjoy some shopping and market food before or after the parade.
According to the Fremont Arts Council, “Petit Troll is all about celebrating creativity, imagination, and the playful spirit that makes Fremont such a unique place to be.” So gather your creativity, grab a friend, and get to making your own mini float for this Sunday’s parade!
