Seattle’s waterfront has been revitalized with recent additions, from the Overlook Walk to a new bike path. Now there is a beloved local ice cream shop located at the south end of Waterfront Park, just in time for summer. Molly Moon’s Ice Cream opened their newest scoop shop on the Seattle waterfront on Friday, May 23!
Read on for all the details.
The new Molly Moon’s scoop shop will be located in Seattle’s Waterfront Park, right inside of the Washington Street Boat Landing Pergola. This historic structure is over 100 years old. You can view photos of the historic pergola from 1920 and 1937 in this proposed work document. The plan was for the the structure to be left largely as it is, with only minor changes made to accommodate the scoop shop.
The Waterfront Park location will be Molly Moon’s 10th scoop shop! The other Seattle locations can be found in these neighborhoods:
- Capitol Hill
- Columbia City
- Madrona (seasonal)
- Queen Anne
- Wallingford
- U Village
Outside of Seattle, there are also Molly Moon’s locations in Bellevue, Redmond, and Edmonds.
Molly Moon’s menu includes 15 flavors: 11 of which are year-round and four more seasonal options. The menu also features toppings and sundaes. It’s all made with fresh, local ingredients.
They have vegan options too! Their year-round vegan flavor is Coconut Chunk and their current vegan seasonal flavor is Vegan Birthday Cake, plus they always offer a vegan chocolate hard shell topping. The other three seasonal flavors (non-vegan) for May are Birthday Cake, German Chocolate Cake, and Strawberry Shortcake. See all 15 flavors here.
The new Molly Moon’s in the Waterfront Park had a tentative opening date of April 25, 2025 but the opening was delayed. The new scoop shop opened on Friday, May 23 with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
You can now line up for your scoop of Molly Moon’s Ice Cream at 199 Alaskan Way. You’ll find it south of the Washington State Ferry Terminal in the Waterfront Park.
