In May, the annual Northwest Folklife Festival brings local culture and arts to Seattle Center over Memorial Day weekend. A mainstay of PNW culture since the ’70s, this community-powered festival is one of our favorite spring traditions. This year it takes place on May 22-25, 2026.
The Seattle International Film Festival also returns in May 2026 with films from around the world, Q&As, talks, special screenings, and cultural film experiences. It’s one of the largest and most respected film festivals in the U.S. Screenings take place at SIFF theaters and venues.
And in June, don’t miss the annual Fremont Solstice Parade and Festival. This two-day festival in Fremont is a highlight of summer in Seattle, especially the quirky parade that includes the traditional Seattle Naked Bike Ride.

Finally, Seattle Pride occurs every June. One of the biggest Pride celebrations in the Pacific Northwest, it is comprised of a Pride parade, music festivals, and free celebrations at Seattle Center and in Capitol Hill. A new addition to Seattle’s Pride celebrations this year is the Pride match occurring as part of the FIFA World Cup on June 26.
