Seattle’s favorite viral raccoon is headed back to T-Mobile Park—at least on a T-shirt.
After the Mariners’ first Jimothy-themed ticket special for August 5 sold out almost immediately, the team has added a second opportunity for fans to get their hands on the exclusive Mariners x Jimothy shirt. The new Jimothy-themed ticket offer is available for the Friday, August 7 matchup against the Detroit Tigers.
The promotion celebrates Jimothy, the unusually shaped raccoon that unexpectedly became one of Seattle’s biggest internet stars this summer. A local resident’s video of the Ballard-famous raccoon racked up more than 5 million views, launching Jimothy into viral fame. Since then, national media outlets have covered his story, local artists have created Jimothy-inspired artwork, fans have snapped up merchandise, and some admirers have even gotten Jimothy tattoos.
The special ticket package includes a discounted Main Level or View Level seat for the August 7 game, an exclusive Mariners-themed Jimothy T-shirt, and a $2 donation to the Ballard Food Bank for every ticket purchased. The nonprofit will use the proceeds to support its mission of providing food and hope to neighbors in the community.
Fans who purchase the themed ticket for either game must redeem their shirt before the end of the third inning by presenting their game ticket at the top of the Left Field Ramp. The giveaway is available only through the special ticket offer, and fans can receive multiple shirts by presenting the same number of eligible themed tickets. T-shirt sizes will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
Tickets for the August 7 promotion are available until noon on game day, but given how quickly the original August 5 Jimothy ticket package disappeared, fans hoping to celebrate Seattle’s most unexpected celebrity may want to grab theirs sooner rather than later.
