If you remember the thrill of earning free pizza through reading in the ‘90s—or you’re just ready to try it for the first time—there’s a nostalgic new reason to visit your local library. The King County Library System (KCLS) has launched “KCLS Rewind,” a ‘90s-themed adult reading challenge running now through April 30, 2026. And yes, it comes with a delicious reward: a free slice from Pagliacci Pizza.
The challenge is simple and flexible. Participants complete six library-related activities between March 2 and April 30 to earn their “pizza slices.” Activities include checking out books from a ‘90s-themed reading list, borrowing movies (either streaming or DVD), or attending special KCLS Rewind events. You can even repeat activities to reach your goal.
Once you’ve collected all six slices, you’ll mark your completion either online through Beanstack or in person at your library using a paper “pizza box” card. Finishers receive a free Pagliacci slice coupon (while supplies last) and are automatically entered into prize drawings.
Local prizes include KCLS Rewind mugs and a $25 Pagliacci gift card. Grand prizes go even bigger, featuring a pizza-making kit, cookbooks, a $100 Pagliacci gift card, and an eReader—perfect for your next reading streak.
Participants can choose how they play: go analog by picking up a stamp card at a branch, or track progress digitally on Beanstack using a library card.
Don’t have a KCLS card yet? Good news—residents of Seattle and King County can sign up for free. It’s a fun, low-pressure way to reconnect with reading, relive some ‘90s nostalgia, and maybe earn a slice (or six) along the way.
