If you’re ready to reach for the stars, then Astra Lumina is the night walk for you. Taking place throughout the Seattle Chinese Garden (6000 16th Ave SW), the cosmic lights & soundscapes will transport you to another world. But first, you’ll have to transport yourself to the garden! So we’ve put together a guide on how to get there.
By Car
Here’s the quickest route if you’re hopping in a car to get to Astra Lumina from an area like Capitol Hill:
From Downtown Seattle: Take the West Seattle Bridge (Highway 99) and head toward West Seattle. Take the exit toward Delridge Way SW and continue onto Delridge Way SW. Turn left onto SW Orchard St, then left onto 16th Ave SW. The garden will be on your right.
Make sure you double-check traffic conditions before your journey and consider using navigation apps for accurate directions and potential alternate routes!
Public Transportation
If you’d rather take the bus, these are some of your best options:
Bus Services: Make use of King County Metro buses to reach stops near the garden. Routes such as the 120, 125, and C Line serve the area. The 125, for example, can get you to Ssc North Entrance, where the Seattle Chinese Garden is just a five minute walk away.
Additional Tips:
Operating Hours and Admission: Check the garden’s official website and the Astra Lumina website for up-to-date-info before planning your visit.
Parking: Onsite parking is only available for those with a parking pass. You can either purchase a parking add-on when getting your Astra Lumina tickets, or try to snag one when you arrive. But be advised that the parking passes are only available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Cash is not accepted.
Accessibility: The Seattle Chinese Garden has dirt pathways that are not recommended for those using mobility equipment or needing special assistance. If you have specific questions, you may contact the ticketing company. Please read Astra Lumina’s FAQs for more information about how to make special accommodation arrangements.
Whether you’re a regular visitor at the Seattle Chinese Garden or have never been before, you have to see how Astra Lumina has transformed the already-stunning grounds. So start planning your trip and snag your tickets—we might just see you there!
