Our Halloween prayers — or hexes — have been answered.
After 27 years since it’s original release, Hocus Pocus is making a comeback. That means the magical movie’s beloved trio of witches will be returning to our screens, and it looks like they’ll be played by none other than their original actors! Bette Midler confirmed during a recent interview that she and co-stars Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy will be returning to play the wickedly hilarious Sanderson sisters. Hocus Pocus is a 1993 classic Halloween movie that tells the tale of three evil witches, the Sanderson sisters, who find themselves in modern-day Salem, Massachusetts after being accidentally resurrected on Halloween night. Although not initially becoming a huge success, the film has established a cult-following after many years of being played on TV for children, hence why there are now plans to create a follow-up movie.
There have been rumors going around for a few years about a Hocus Pocus sequel, but with this latest news, it appears it’s getting closer to becoming reality. Once ready, Hocus Pocus 2 will be released on Disney+. At the moment, there are no concrete dates set for the production or release of the movie, so we’ll still have to wait a bit for our favorite coven to reunite and bewitch our screens again. In the meantime, I suggest we form a calming circle to contain our excitement.
