Looking for something fun and a little different to do this weekend in Seattle? We know of a place that is out of this world.
The popular Dreamland Bar & Diner in Fremont just opened their redesigned patio this month. Dubbed Carnelian Bay, the high-concept patio boasts an immersive sci-fi theme with neon lights, lush botanicals, and a massive tiger fountain with special effects. It also has its own separate cocktail and food menu.
Although the new themed patio is still in its soft launch phase, you can go check it out now! The hours for Carnelian Bay are 5 p.m. to close, Wednesday through Sunday.
It is located in Fremont, which is hosting the Fremont Fair and Solstice Parade this weekend (June 18-19). We’d be hard-pressed to think of a weekend itinerary more fun than having lunch at the fair, watching the parade at 2 p.m., and then heading over to Carnelian Bay after 5 p.m. for drinks.
Speaking of drinks, you can visit Carnelian Bay for tiki-inspired cocktails with a space-age flair. Make sure you pay attention to the blurbs on the cocktail menu, as they will tell a story about the world of Carnelian Bay and the narrative that comes with it.
The patio’s neotropical food menu is also worth the visit. Pictured below is their Loco Moco, described as a combination of “pineapple and charred garlic scape fried rice, soy sawmill gravy, chuck-ribeye blend patty, sunnyside egg.”
Once night falls and the neon lights start to glow, you’ll find that the patio is transformed from a lush tropical space to a glamorous space disco. The patio is fully covered, so if this June’s rain continues your good time won’t get waterlogged.
It’s also worth the trip to Fremont to check out the patio’s attached Dreamland Bar & Diner if you haven’t been yet. This all-day diner has a dance floor, two happy hours, Saturday drag brunches, and a glittering disco ball hallway that begs to be captured for your Instagram.
Ready to walk through Dreamland and enter Carnelian Bay? We’ll see you there, if that giant tiger doesn’t get us first.
