If you didn’t have plans for this weekend in Seattle, you do now. Freakout Festival is back this weekend for its 10th annual edition of what its creators describe as “a musician’s festival,” “a comprehensive sensory experience,” and “a big-ass party.” The festivities kick off tomorrow (Thursday, November 10) in Ballard, and tickets are still available!
Read on for all the info you need to attend Freakout Festival 2022.
Freakout Festival started 10 years ago in Capitol Hill and has since grown into a music festival that is not just popular in the PNW but internationally known. Their diverse lineup of rock, hip-hop, punk, and emerging musical artists now takes over the Seattle neighborhood of Ballard for four days every November.
This year Freakout Festival will host local PNW bands as well as national and international bands across seven Ballard venues. This year’s lineup is the largest yet, with around 120 acts, and includes Os Mutantes, Futurebirds, Acid Tongue, and more. Even if you’re not familiar with most of the lineup, you’re sure to come away from the festival with at least one new musical artist (whom you can later brag about seeing before they made it big).
There is also a new addition to this year’s Freakout Festival: Freakout in the Streets. This heated outdoor addition to the festival is free and open to the public (ages 21+) so you don’t have to buy a ticket to get a taste of Freakout. There will be an outdoor stage, food trucks, a beer garden, and more from 3:00 to 10:00 p.m. each day. The proceeds of Freakout in the Streets will go to local non-profits Black Fret Seattle and the Vera Project.
To experience the full festival you can purchase two-day, four-day, or VIP tickets online, or get a single-day pass the day-of in Ballard. For tickets, the schedule, and more info, visit the festival website. Keep in mind that this music festival is for ages 21+ only.
