Emerald City Comic Con returns to the Seattle Convention Center from Thursday, March 5 through Sunday, March 8. There’s still time to grab tickets if you haven’t yet. This year’s lineup includes plenty for the 21+ crowd, highlighted by a brand-new fantasy-themed Tavern with a bar. Plus, Saturday night brings an off-site afterparty that’s open to everyone over the age of 21—no badge required.
Once the exhibit halls wind down, ECCC shifts into After Dark mode across Levels 3, 4, and 5 of the convention center. Hours run until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and until 11:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Many late-night activities are open to all ages, including karaoke, gaming meetups, cosplay hangouts, panels, and even a sci-fi murder mystery party. That said, there are also dedicated 18+ and 21+ experiences for fans seeking a more grown-up vibe.
For those 21 and over looking to step away from the family-focused show floor, this year introduces The Tavern on Level 5 of the Summit Building, described as a “fantasy-themed haven.” Tucked away from the main convention bustle, the immersive space includes cozy lounges like the Kraken’s Keep (a 21+ bar), merchant booths, a board game library, hands-on workshops, and nighttime events such as a late-night burlesque show. Throughout the weekend, guests can unwind with specialty “elixirs,” tarot readings, and tabletop gaming beside a digital hearth.
Can’t make it inside the con? You can still catch the energy off-site at the 12th annual Sonicboombox Emerald City 2026 Afterparty, happening Saturday night at SPIN Seattle. No badge is necessary, making it an accessible option for anyone who wants the Comic Con atmosphere without the $100+ pass. Known as the go-to “industry” party, it draws professional cosplayers and special guests enjoying their night off. Expect live DJs, free photo booths, and free ping-pong all evening, with $35 admission at the door.
