Capitol Hill Block Party returns to Seattle this July with a couple of big changes.
If you’ve never experienced the annual Capitol Hill Block Party, you’re in for a treat. This popular Seattle music festival is back for its 27th year with a great lineup of musical artists. Capitol Hill Block Party 2025 takes place July 19-20! We have this year’s lineup below as well as all the tips you need for having the best time.
Read on for all the info you need to attend this year’s Capitol Hill Block Party!
Who are the headliners this year?
First and foremost, we have to talk about this year’s lineup. The headliners for Capitol Hill Block Party 2025 are Thundercat and Porter Robinson. In total there will be over 45 amazing musical artists performing at the festival such as DJ Pee Wee (aka Anderson .Paak), The Dare, 100 Gecs, and more across 7+ stages. You can see the entire festival lineup here.
What’s different this year?
As for this year’s big changes, there are two. The first and most obvious change is that Capitol Block Party will be scaling back to a two-day event in 2025 instead of the typical Friday-through-Sunday schedule. This year’s festival is on Saturday, July 19 and Sunday, July 20.
The second change has to do with the age policy. In the past this festival has been open to all ages, but for the first year ever Capitol Hill Block Party will be 21+ only for 2025. The reason given for this change is that it will “optimize the festival layout” as well as provide a better experience for both the attendees and the neighborhood.
What are the hours?
Now for the nitty-gritty. Gates open at 12:30 p.m. on both days. Performances start at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 19 and continue past 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 20. You can view the daily performance schedules here.
Where is it located? (And is there parking??)
The festival takes place in the lively Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle, hence the name. The primary entrance is at 1122 E Pike Street (East Pike Street & 12th Avenue). This is where you can purchase or pick up tickets as well as check in if you have a VIP ticket. You can also enter at the East Pine Street & 10th Avenue entrance if you have a printed or mobile ticket already purchased. The best way to get there is public transit or ride shares, since parking is limited in the area!
Will there be food?
There will be food trucks, two VIP lounges, beer gardens, and more for you to enjoy in between sets. While you’re in Capitol Hill that weekend, you can also spend some time exploring the many restaurants, bars, and shops in the neighborhood.
What should I bring (or not bring)?
Note that the festival does not allow dogs, so leave your furry friend at home. You should definitely plan to bring an empty water bottle (non-glass) to fill up at the water stations once you’re there. The festival is entirely outside, rain or shine, so bring sunscreen, a hat, and even a small personal umbrella for shade. Tents, chairs, and coolers are not allowed in. If you bring a bag bigger than 12” x 12” it needs to be transparent.
Are tickets still available?
Yes! Get tickets and more info on the on the festival website.
See you there!
