There is usually an unspoken rule at most classical concerts: sit still, stay quiet, and save the drinks for the intermission. Candlelight Wine in Seattle is rewriting that etiquette entirely, bringing the wine out of the lobby and directly into the performance. By seamlessly weaving a live string quartet with a five-course wine tasting, this event proves that Mozart and a bold Cabernet are meant to be enjoyed simultaneously.

One of the musicians introduces each wine alongside a perfectly matched live piece, allowing both the tasting notes and the musical notes to arrive in perfect harmony. It all unfolds in Candlelight’s signature candlelit setting and it’s coming just in time for the holidays. What is Candlelight Wine?

Candlelight Wine is a brand-new tasting where five expert-curated wines are paired with live classical music from a professional string quartet. Over the course of 70 minutes, the musicians will perform excerpts from Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons, Mozart’s Flute Quartet in D Major, and more.
Suitable for music lovers and wine enthusiasts aged 21 and above, the first evening will take place on December 18 at the Kimpton Palladian Hotel, just steps from iconic destinations like Pike Place Market and the waterfront.
Kimpton Palladian Hotel: a downtown Seattle landmark
This brand-new Candlelight experience will be held at the Kimpton Palladian Hotel, voted nr. 2 Top Hotel in the city by Condé Nast Traveler. Set in the 1910 Calhoun Hotel building and named for its Palladian windows, the hotel’s design nods to the city’s past: wood finishes for the timber industry, shimmering accents for the Gold Rush, and nautical-knot art for the ports.
