Looking to spend an afternoon at a Seattle beer garden?
It’s the perfect time of year for it! Luckily you’re spoiled for choice when it comes to beer gardens in Seattle. There are so many excellent breweries with outdoor spaces in Seattle. We narrowed it down to five breweries that went beyond basic outdoor seating options and created their own versions of an urban oasis. Many have games available, most have fire pits, and they all have excellent beer on draft.
Here are the best beer gardens in Seattle:
1. Citizen Cafe Campfire Beer Garden
Located in Lower Queen Anne, Citizen Cafe typically serves coffee and food such as sandwiches, crepes, and salads. However, we especially love Citizen for their Campfire Beer Garden. It is open on Wednesday through Friday from 4:00 p.m. until close, and on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until close. You can enjoy beer, wine, and boozy slushies on their large, sunny patio that is outfitted with fire pits and games.

2. Fremont Brewing Urban Beer Garden
This leafy beer garden in Fremont is like a mini jungle oasis in the city. It’s very dog-friendly and they often host delicious food pop-ups. As a bonus, it’s walking distance from Gas Works Park.

3. Optimism Brewing
Optimism Brewing in Capitol Hill is actually set to become Stoup Brewing in late August 2023. You can read more about the deal on the Optimism Brewing website, but the important thing is that the 16,000-square foot taproom and its beer garden will remain mostly the same as it is now. That’s a relief, because we love their chill outdoor oasis tucked into the lively heart of Capitol Hill.

4. Ounces Taproom & Beer Garden
This West Seattle taproom and beer garden is open to pets and all ages, making it a popular hangout spot on the weekends. They serve only local brews, wine, and cider on over 30 taps and they often host food pop-ups and DJs. Plus they have cornhole!

5. Rhein Haus
The outdoor beer garden (or should we say biergarten) at Rhein House is complete with fire pits, a bocce court, and a bar just for the outdoor area. It’s a great spot in Capitol Hill to play a round of bocce in the sun with friends or cozy up by a fire with a pint when it’s cool out.
